Description

 

Ran Akagi is a street artist from Shantytown , the seedy neighborhood of District 24 . He is known by the alias Red and is affiliated with the DoRed group , of which he is the leader.

The group's activities are many and varied but have in common, for the most part, the fact that they are illegal. Ran is also in the crosshairs of Wataru Chikushi , a member of the police force, who is trying to find evidence or testimony to indict him.

A bit provocative, he regularly posts online videos where we see him doing graffiti on the walls of the city. It still appears hidden there.

He often travels on a skateboard and rarely separates from his board.

 

Like most members of DoRed , Ran is computer-savvy and is able to hack District 24 government sites . He also owns several drones which he usually uses for his "street performances".

 

Ran is also one of the members of the RGB trio , which consists of himself (Red), Kōki Suidō (Green), and Shūta Aoi (Blue). The group was started by Asumi , whom he nicknames Asumin , when they were still in elementary school. But, since the accidental death of the latter, the boys hardly see each other anymore, to the great displeasure of Mari , another of her childhood friends.

 

A year after Asumi 's death , when he had just attended the commemoration of the event, he joined his old friends at the restaurant run by the Sakuragi family . There, his phone rings and he is addressed by the name that appears on the screen: " Asumin ". Perplexed, he picks up and has a vision of two horrible futures: in one, Mari dies after being hit by a train, in the other, the train derails and all the passengers die. A voice prompts him to make a choice: will he sacrifice several lives to save only one or will he let his friend die to save the passengers?

Believing in a bad joke, he doesn't really care about it until he realizes that Shûta and Kôki had the same visions as him.

During the rescue operation, he ensures the coordination of the group thanks to the headsets he provides them. He also tries to take control of the train remotely, without success.

 

Once Mari and the passengers are saved, the trio wonders: who is this person who pretended to be Asumi and what is his goal?

For him, as for Kôki , it is a bad joker who used the name of the deceased. So he decides to investigate on his own.

 

A few days later, while a gastronomic contest is in full swing in the district, the members of the trio are alerted by a new call. Once again, they face a difficult choice: faced with a violent tornado, should they save the strong while abandoning the weak or vice versa?

Ran chooses to save the weak without really consulting with her friends, which has the effect of blocking the bridge, which is the only access point to the peninsula where the event takes place.

He also warns Kinako , a member of DoRed who came to take advantage of the contest, to take shelter.

 

Along with the other members of the trio, he helplessly witnesses the sacrifice of Kaba , his former high school teacher.
