Eid al-Adha ("feast of sacrifice") or Eid al-Kebir meaning "the great feast" in opposition to the Eid al-Fitr called Aid  as Seghir, Is the most important festival of Islam. It is called Tabaski in the countries of West and Central Africa (Chad, Cameroon) with a large Muslim community. It takes place on the 10th of the month of dhou al-hijja, the last month of the Muslim calendar, after Arafa, or station on Mount Arafat and marks annually the end of the hajj.
This feast commemorates the strength of Ibrahim's faith (Abraham in the Judeo-Christian tradition) to his God, symbolized by the episode in which he accepts to sacrifice his only son, Ishmael (by tradition) Jewish-Christian, the son to be sacrificed is Isaac). After his acceptance of the divine order, God sends the archangel Gabriel (Jibrīl) who, at the last moment, substitutes for the child, a sheep that will serve as a sacrificial offering. In remembrance, 11,12 of this devotion from Ibrahim to his God, Muslim families sacrifice an animal (the sheep that has six months or the goat that is two years old or the cattle that is two years old and entered the third lunar year Or the camel that has completed five years13) according to the rules in force. In particular, the Muslim must behave as best he can with the animal, the Prophet Muhammad having said, "Allah has prescribed excellence in everything. So when you kill, kill perfectly and if you slit, slit perfectly. Let one of you sharpen his knife and soothe the beast he kills. We must eat the meat of the sacrifice, keep it and offer it to the poor, relatives, neighbors, colleagues, etc.

The day of Eid al-Kebir is a day of celebration in the Muslim prophetic tradition. Indeed, as soon as the vision of the new moon is announced, Muslims glorify the greatness of God by the takbir. It is also highly recommended to multiply alms and gifts that day.
