Description
Hiyori is a teenager living by the sea with her family. Her father died of an illness when she was in her last year of primary school. She then lived alone with her mother for 3 years, until the latter remarried Issei Minagi .
It was on this occasion that his last name changed.
Insecure and often awkward when it comes to conversation, Hiyori has got into the habit of giving herself an unapproachable air in order to be quiet. Most of her classmates are therefore unaware that she is passionate about fishing.
Indeed, she has practiced fly fishing for many years and regularly goes to the port to indulge in her favorite activity. She inherited this passion from her father, himself a fly fishing enthusiast.
Hiyori tends to use all her pocket money to buy gear for herself, most often at the shop run by the Yoshinaga family .
It is at the port that Hiyori meets Koharu , the daughter of Issei Minagi , without knowing who she is. She only discovers it a little later, during a conversation.
The two teenage girls quickly bond over a dish of sashimi prepared unexpectedly by Hiyori . Finding with surprise that Koharu is really interested in fishing, she agrees to show him how to do it and to share his passion with her.
Once their parents are married, Hiyori and Koharu are officially sisters and live under the same roof. They also attend the same high school but are not in the same class. There, however, she finds Koi Yoshinaga , her childhood friend.
Aware that fly fishing is not the most accessible technique for a beginner, she learns about other ways of fishing to help Koharu get started smoothly. The latter, however, is determined to learn fly fishing and Hiyori ends up explaining the basics to her. Although her sister struggles to catch any fish during their first outings, Hiyori is patient, not hesitating to encourage her and give her advice.
