1. The demonstrative adjectives
The demonstrative adjectives are used to show precisely a person or an object. They agree in kind and in number with the name they complete.
Ex: This boy is French, but this girl is English. These boys are biology students and these girls are music students.

This: completes a singular masculine name.
Ex: this book, this boy
This: completes a singular masculine noun that begins with a vowel.
Ex: this man, this tree
This: completes a female name.
Ex: this chair, this girl
These: complete a masculine or feminine plural noun.
Ex: these books, these chairs


2. Possessive adjectives

Possessive adjectives are used to designate belonging. They agree in kind and in number with the name they complete and not with the owner.
Ex: This book is hers. This is his book. (And not his book)

My: completes a singular masculine name.
Ex: My pen, my brother
My: completes a singular feminine noun that begins with a vowel.
Ex: My friend Marie, my wardrobe
Ma: completes a female name.
Ex: My car, my sister
Mes: completes a masculine or feminine plural noun.
Ex: My brothers, my cars
