Are we going to experience a (historic) recession?

The alarm bells are growing louder. Major economic players around the world are sharing their fears.


The latest one?


The world's largest fund manager: Blackrock


He warned of the coming recession in a recent statement.


And for which central banks will have very few solutions to provide.


Although economists and experts are sounding the alarm about a likely recession: It's not happening anytime soon.


Maybe never see?


Indeed, the world has changed, especially since the pandemic. There are many reasons to remain optimistic for the months and years to come.


First, let us remember that the level of unemployment in the United States remains very low at the end of 2022.


The unemployment rate in November 2022 remained at 3.7%, remaining within the narrow window of 3.5% to 3.7% it has been in since March of this year.


The U.S. economy added 263,000 nonfarm payroll jobs in November, keeping the unemployment rate stable.

What we discover through this large amount of data is a trend.


A quick analysis of these figures (which are averages) allows us to visualize the evolution of the American real estate market.


Once again, we are looking at a macro scale and therefore the overall trend may not necessarily be applicable to every location.


However, we are already seeing that many cities in Florida are making progress and continuing to see price growth.


This is the case in Tampa, Miami, Jacksonville.


Other cities are beginning to see home values drop, as is the case in New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.


The strongest growth is expected in Knoxville, Tennessee, and Tampa.


San Francisco, California, is expected to see the largest decline among the 100 largest U.S. markets.

Supply and demand.


There is still a housing inventory problem in the country, despite the drop in demand. This shows how low supply has been in recent months.
