     The salary is attractive and stimulating: the more documents the notary authenticates, the more his income increases.
     There is no routine in this legal profession: the law and regulations evolve over the years, the files to be handled are varied, clients come from different backgrounds (individuals, professionals), etc.


The lessers

     The studies are long and selective, and setting up on your own or in association requires a significant financial investment.
     Given his status as a public officer, the notary is subject to strict corporate rules: prohibition on practicing professional activities, speculative operations, respect for professional secrecy, application of criminal sanctions in the event of non-compliance with the code of ethics.
     The notary cannot set up anywhere in France. It is the Ministry of Justice which creates and decides on the locations of offices throughout France, thus limiting their number and constraining the place of practice of notaries.

The qualities and skills to become a Notary.

     Discretion: the notary is bound by professional secrecy, he must never reveal anything about the transactions and actions of his clients, especially since the latter could then turn against him.
     Legal monitoring: the notary must pay particular attention to legal developments in many areas of law.
     Pedagogy: when informing his clients, the notary must be able to clearly explain the nature of certain sometimes very complex legal mechanisms.
     Diplomacy: the notary must have a good sense of human relations, he is above all an advisor!
