The 30 instance ban only affects a single WoW account, not the entire Blizzard account. (Speculation) Bans last 24 hours from the end of the first dungeon. So if you complete a marathon of 30 instances, the bans will start to expire 24 hours after the first run ends.

 

What is an instance lock?

 

Once you kill a boss in a heroic dungeon or raid, you will receive an instance ban tied to that boss. While the instance lock is active, you cannot enter a copy of the instance the boss lives in, nor queue for it in the dungeon finder.

 

How do I reset an instance?

 

A hard reset occurs when all party members leave the instance and the instance leader right-clicks their own portrait and then clicks the "Reset Instance" button. This will restart the whole instance and all mobs will be back. Heroic Dungeons and Raid Instances cannot be manually reset.
