The best used vehicles under $ 5,000
Even though it's hard to find a used car these days, that doesn't mean you have to settle for a lower quality vehicle. It's true, it takes a little more time and patience to find a good used vehicle, especially if your budget is small. Here we offer models that have experience, but also an extended life expectancy. It is still possible to find good vehicles at low prices. You will see the majority of the models we offer are 10 years and older. But, that does not mean that it is not a reliable and quality means of transport.
HONDA CIVIC 2009 TO 2011
This generation offered a more spacious and quieter interior and a better ride than the previous generation. Most versions come with an economical 1.8-liter four-cylinder.
HONDA FIT 2007 TO 2010
The Fit has a surprising amount of interior space with the magical seats in the back, creating a deep, flat floor. Although quite slow to accelerate, the Fit is light and responsive, with a smooth, purposeful engine and nimble handling that makes it fun to drive, but the car is noisy.
TOYOTA COROLLA 2005 TO 2009
Monument of reliability, handling is however uninspiring. The interior offers good access and a decent rear seat, but the driving position is a bit compromised with a steering wheel too far away.
TOYOTA PRIUS 2005 TO 2009
The Prius is ideal for people who only want low operating costs and convenience. It has a fuel consumption below 5 liters per 100 km, but here too, inspiration behind the wheel is not part of the purchase criteria.
PONTIAC VIBE AND TOYOTA MATRIX 2005 TO 2009
Very popular model here with its practical hatchback format and puncture-proof 1.8-liter Toyota engine. Handling is quite nimble, and the ride is smooth, if a bit jittery. Access is very easy and the back seat is quite spacious. Folding down the rear seats results in a wide and flat cargo floor.
HONDA ACCORD 2004 TO 2007
The Accord is a spacious and reliable car. Most are equipped with a four-cylinder engine which, in conjunction with the automatic transmission, forms a smooth and discreet powertrain. The top-of-the-range versions come with a powerful and quiet V6. The handling is good, the ride is stable and controlled, and the switches and gauges are intuitive.
TOYOTA AVALON 2005
The Avalon is essentially a stretched Camry with more upscale features. Highlights are a very quiet powertrain, Lexus-worthy road insulation and an impressive finish. The rear seat space is generous.
TOYOTA CAMRY 2005 TO 2006
The reliable, easy-to-drive Camry with a smooth, fuel-efficient powertrain, a comfortable ride and a quiet interior. Most versions are equipped with a four-cylinder engine, which is quite sufficient. Top-of-the-line models come with a V6 engine, which is efficient and powerful, but sacrifices some fuel economy.
HONDA CR-V 2005-06
One of the best models of CR-V, it has a smooth engine, good fuel economy and good visibility; and it is very reliable if maintained properly. Handling is healthy without being fun, but the ride is comfortable. We expect a little too much noise from the road. Space for the rear seats is generous, and cargo space is square and spacious.
HONDA PILOT 2005 TO 2006
The Pilot combines the best virtues of a wagon, an SUV and a van. Its super V6 delivers decent performance and respectable fuel economy, a fairly rare combination. Driving is comfortable and handling is secure. The standard split third-row bench seat folds into the floor to create more cargo space,
TOYOTA RAV4 2004 TO 2005
Another monument of reliability, the RAV4s of this year have agile handling and compact dimensions which make them pleasant to drive and very manoeuvrable. A hinged side door makes loading and unloading rather cumbersome and offers no shelter from the rain. Rear seat space and cargo volume are modest.
