You want to buy back your contract
You are requesting a redemption - partial or total - of your life insurance contract, as authorized by article L. 132-23 of the Insurance Code. Send your insurer a registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt, enclosing a copy of your contract, your last statement of situation, as well as a bank identity statement. The insurance company has a maximum of two months from receipt of your letter to make the payment. After this period, the unpaid sums generate interest at the legal rate (article L. 132-21 of the Insurance Code).
Your insurance application or contract must indicate the cash surrender values for at least the first eight years and the amount of any charges levied. In addition, if the savings acquired on your contract are greater than or equal to 2,000 euros, the insurer must inform you of the surrender value each year. Below, this information will be communicated to you on request. If this surrender is total, your contract is terminated.
Please note : capital gains are taxed if the redemption is made before the eighth year of the contract.
