Why subscribe to voluntary insurance?
The purpose of the subscription of a voluntary insurance is to safeguard the right of the insured person to a retirement pension and maintain the benefit of the medical coverage for him and his beneficiaries.
 
Who can subscribe to voluntary insurance?
Any insured person has the right to subscribe to voluntary insurance, if he fulfills the conditions laid down in Article 5 of the Dahir Law No. 17.02 Law No. 1-72-184 of 27/07/1972, as he has been modified and completed.
 
These conditions are:
 

    Being subject to the mandatory plan for at least 1080 days or discontinuous (nearly 3.5 years if it was declared in a regular way is full-time);
    Stop fulfilling the requirements of compulsory subjugation: that is to say, it no longer exercises an employee activity;
    Submit a request for subscription to voluntary insurance within a maximum of 60 months from the date of cessation of the mandatory subjugation. This period is not applied to the insured persons cumulating a number of days greater than or equal to 2160 days continuous or discontinuous.

 
How is the subscription to voluntary insurance?
 
The insured must apply for a subscription to voluntary insurance (Form Ref: 319-1-01) to the agency of his choice, accompanied by the following documents:
 

    Certificate of cessation of employee issued by the last employer or declaration on the duly legalized honor if necessary;
    Certificate of life not exceeding 3 months;
    Copy of the CNSS card;
    Copy of the national identity card.

How is the assessment rate linked to this benefit?
 
The contribution rate applied for voluntary insurance is as follows:

    For the services of the general plan: 12.89% of the reference salary within the limit of the monthly ceiling (currently 6000 dirhams);
    For AMO: 4.52% of the reference salary

The reference wage taken into consideration for the calculation of the contributions corresponds to the average salary of the last six months declared to the CNSS at the time of the liability of the insured to the social security scheme.Precedent the month of pay period. This salary is fixed within the limit of the monthly ceiling (currently 6000 dirhams) and can not be lower than the SMIG.

The contributions due under voluntary insurance are paid quarterly. Delay increases are applied, in case of non-payment of contributions due within the regulatory deadlines. The increase rates in force are:

    3% the first month and 1% the other months for the general scheme;
    1% per month for compulsory health insurance.
