Sources of pollution
Soil can be polluted in many ways:
• Infiltration of a landfill
• Discharge of industrial waste
• Percolation of contaminated water
• Breakage of underground storage tanks
• Excessive application of pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers
• Infiltration of solid waste
The sources of this pollution are natural and anthropogenic
Natural sources are:
* The volcanism
* The fall of meteorites
* The alteration of the mother rock
* Acid rains
* Forest fires
* Erosion
Anthropogenic causes of soil pollution are either direct or indirect
Direct causes due to direct or accidental releases to the soil of various pollutants from agriculture, industry, household waste
Indirect causes due to the consequences of air pollution and water pollution.
The anthropogenic causes are the most serious because man introduces into the soil enormous quantities of biodegradable natural products exceeding the self-purification capacity of soils or synthesized products with a high half-life or non-biodegradable products.

Reduce as much as possible the doses of cleaning products (crockery, washing clothes, scouring the soil ...) and use the least polluting.
Consolidate the remains of toxic or dangerous products and bring them to the container yard. Never throw them in the trash, the sink, the toilet or the sewers!
Avoid the use of chemicals or ashes (barbecues for example) in the garden or in the kitchen garden. It is quite possible to do without these pollutants to get a living garden and healthy vegetables.
Refrain from any clandestine deposits, both in the city and in the countryside. Bulky objects must always be brought to the container yard.
Bring to the collection sites (Bebat) old batteries that contain heavy metals. Never throw them in the trash or in the middle of nature.
