Can you buy auto insurance without an information statement?

Some driver profiles do not have an auto insurance information record. This is particularly the case for new drivers who have never been insured or motorists who have not been insured for more than 2 years. These 2 profiles are considered to be “no history” drivers.

Some other driver profiles without information records exist:

Spouses declared as secondary driver on the husband or wife's auto insurance contract.
Drivers who have always driven a company vehicle, insured by the company.

It is therefore quite possible to take out car insurance without an information statement, but be aware that policyholders who are in this situation will not be able to benefit from any advantage because they do not yet have a bonus.
What does a car insurance information statement contain?

The data contained in the information statement is not fixed at random. Indeed, it is Article A 121-1 of the Insurance Code which defines all the information that must be included in the document. These concern both your policyholder profile (claims history, bonus-malus, etc.) and your vehicle to be insured. For insurers, the purpose of this data is to calculate the premium amounts you will have to pay for your auto insurance.

The information statement includes the following information:

The date of purchase of your auto insurance contract.
Drivers must be insured with their name, first name, number and date of obtaining the driver's license.
All information relating to the vehicle: registration number, model, type of fuel, date of entry into service, etc.
    History of claims.
The driver's responsibility in each claim.
    The bonus-penalty coefficient.
