how to keep the environment clean
The environment is "the set of elements (biotic or abiotic) that surround an individual or a species and some of which contribute directly to his or her needs" 1 or "all natural conditions (physical, chemical, Biological) and cultural (sociological) factors that can influence living organisms and human activities
The notion of the natural environment, often referred to as the "environment", has evolved considerably over the last few centuries, and particularly over the last few decades. The environment is understood as the set of natural components of planet Earth, such as air, water, atmosphere, rocks, plants, animals, and all the phenomena and interactions that occur, That is, all that surrounds man and his activities - although this central position of man is precisely an object of controversy in the field of ecology.
In the twenty-first century, the protection of the environment became a major issue, at the same time as the idea of its degradation, both global and local, had to be imposed because of the polluting human activities. Preserving the environment is one of the three pillars of sustainable development. It is also the seventh of the eight Millennium Development Goals3, which the United Nations considers "crucial to the success of the other goals set out in the Millennium Summit Declaration".
Environmental Protection
Environmental protection means taking measures to limit or eliminate the negative impact of human activities on the environment.
Beyond the simple conservation of nature, it is a matter of understanding the systemic, and possibly planetary, functioning of the environment; Identify human actions that damage it to the point of harming current or future generations; And to put in place corrective actions. This action is therefore both scientific, because it requires to develop our knowledge for the moment limited in this field; Citizen, since the decisions to be made have a cost for present generations, and an impact for future generations; Political, because the decisions to be taken are necessarily collective and sometimes planetary.
Scientific knowledge of the global functioning of the planet is very recent; It was only towards the end of the nineteenth century that the necessary theories could be formed. It took almost a century to discover that human activities had not only a significant impact on this environment, but that it was in danger of being definitive. In 1972, the simultaneous creation of the United Nations Environment Program and corresponding governmental bodies in the developed countries marks the starting point of the will to act collectively.
